Both Linux and Windows are supported, linux and windows. That matters for game servers, which appear as a listed use case, game server, and for teams moving a Windows workload onto a VPS instead of rebuilding it on Linux. Dedicated capacity is offered alongside, vps and bare metal.

The control plane is free, and the high availability option is priced at $0 as well. Nodes are the running cost, $0.018, so a small cluster stays cheap to start while a production one is priced by capacity.

Support runs on phone, chat and email, so phone, chat, email and a help centre are all covered. The uptime commitment on the VPS plans is 99.99%. IONOS is headquartered in Germany and contracts through IONOS Inc..

DDoS protection is included, and the provider holds ISO 27001. Both matter for a public game server or any workload reachable over the network. The certification covers information security management rather than the hardware itself.

At $6 for the entry plan, IONOS sits close to the site median of €5.83 and above the lower quartile of €3.46. Aruba lists €1.99 and UCloud lists $5.34, so starting cost is not IONOS's strongest point.
