What is ISO 27001?
In short
ISO 27001 is an audited information security management standard that cloud buyers ask for when customer data is handled.
ISO 27001 is the international standard for an information security management system, a set of controls for handling customer data that an outside body audits and certifies. Buyers ask for it because a certificate is checked, not self declared. Provider certification lists usually mix it with other marks. 21Vianet holds ISO 9002, ISO 27001 and ISO 20000, 3v-Hosting lists PCI DSS, ISO 27001:2013 and ISO 9001:2008, and A1 Digital lists ISO 27001, CSA and ISO 27018.
