What is PCI DSS?
In short
The payment card industry security standard, named in a provider's set of compliance certifications.
PCI DSS is the security standard that governs how cardholder data is handled, and it is audited rather than self-declared. Cloud and hosting providers list it inside a wider set of certifications and schemes. AlbaHost and Africa Data Centres (Liquid C2) both name it alongside other certifications. Atlantic.Net lists it with SOC reports and privacy regimes, and Allnodes groups it with a broad set of ISO standards and audits. AWS carries it too, within a compliance programme covering many regimes. If you run payments, check that the specific provider in scope holds it.
